Benton is Northeast of Chattanooga in Eastern Tennessee.

Take Highway 411 5 miles north of Benton, TN, between the Ocoee and Hiwasee Rivers - Chilhowee Gliderport is on the left. Look for the large signs.

Fifty-five minutes northeast of Chattanooga. Take 1-75 north to Highway 64 east, then north on Highway 411 about 10 miles on the left.

Two hours north of Atlanta, GA. Take 1-75 north to Exit 293 (Highway 411, White-Chatsworth). Go north on Highway 411 all the way to the gliderport (5 miles past Benton, TN)

One-and-a-half hours south of Knoxville, TN. via 1-75 south. Exit at Athens, TN, then take Highway 30 east to Highway 411 south, and go approximately 10 miles.

15 to 20 minutes from most of the rafting outfitters on the Ocoee River, via Highway 64 to Highway 411 north, then about 10 miles.

Chilhowee is a full service gliderport that is open year round. We are open weather permitting, from approximately 11:00 AM until 6:00 PM every Friday through Sunday, and weekdays by appointment. We accept walk-ups, however, call 423-338-2000 for reservations. Calling will ensure you are scheduled for your ride, the ride of a lifetime. Glider instruction is also available by appointment.

Description of runway: The grass runway 3/21 is approximately 2,600' between the thresholds with some undulation in the surface. Be aware of the utility wires off both ends of the runway.
